Labor Day is just about over, and now is the time for all Americans to make a choice. Yes, I know you have heard this before, but this upcoming national election is very important and will shape the future of our country. For those of you who are still not registered to vote or have not voted in a while, please become active or more active in our political movement. We need to come together, a majority of us, to create the kind of country that will improve the life of masses and unify Americans in a common national, global, and humanitarian goal.

I am a proud supporter of Barack Obama and will wholeheartedly support the Obama/Biden ticket. McCain demonstrates a life-time of political commitment and Palin is a fresh face in the Republican Party. However, eight is enough. The overall conservative direction of our country is not working. Rents and the price of food continue to go up. Overall, it just costs more to live in this country and more and more people are heading into poverty.

The next election will say a great deal about this country. I am excited to witness the process and be part of this historical moment in politics. Politics is about life, our neighbors, our schools, the price of gas, the diminishing value of US homes, and the increase in rent. Get involved. Believe that you can make a difference. Believe that your vote does really count in the long end. It starts with our collective goal to make the world a better place. Take some action or more actions to get or stay involved. If you still remain cynical about politics in general, and believe it just doesn’t really matter, please, please just consider making one small change. Vote.

I have decided to officially support Barack Obama for President of the United States. I was a Hillary Clinton supporter and like her a great deal, however Barack’s passion and inspiration moves me. I first started to seriously consider Barack Obama the night he won the Iowa Caucus. I was surprised that a Black man won in a predominant white state. When I heard his speech that night, the first time I had ever heard him speak, I was so touched by his message of unity and hope that I shed a few tears. No politician had ever moved me like that. Since then I have followed his progress in the 2008 Election. Hillary has been great, she knows what she’s doing, has a lot of experience and is a strong politician. But Barack represents a future political world that can bridge large gaps in our community. Young people and people of color are coming out of the woodwork to support him and I think that’s just incredible. More people need to get involved in politics to really make a difference in our country. So, my full support now goes to Mr. Obama, a man who dares to dream and create change for all of us who have felt unheard and uninspired.

When I first learned Hillary Clinton was going to run for President I was very excited about the possibility of this country electing the first women to the highest office of the land. Presently I’m a supporter, however I recently became inspired about Obama’s message. I was very happy Obama won the Iowa Caucus. I was moved to tears when I heard his speech, which surprised me greatly. Now I am waiting to see how the next few weeks work out. I still like Hillary, but electing the first black man as US President is also very appealing. I used to be a member of a community board and two political clubs and have since taken a break from politics, mainly because I lost faith in the system and the ability for an individual person to make a difference. Now, with Obama breaking barriers, my interest in politics has peaked. Obama has enlisted young people into the process and that is significant for the future of politics. I would love a Clinton/Obama Democratic ticket, however now, an Obama/Clinton ticket looks pretty good to me too.
